Paramedical Esthetics Program is Scheduled to launch in August!
Our Clinical and Paramedical Esthetics programs are designed specifically for professional estheticians as well as any licensed professional who is able to provide care for the skin within the scope of their practice.
The skin care industry has become extremely progressive and competitive over the last decade. It is a challenge for the skin care professional to stay current with the latest high tech treatments, modalities and procedures. Furthermore, spas, skin care clinics and medi spas are looking for the most knowledgeable, well trained professionals to work in their facilities.
At this time there is no license provided by the state for Clinical or Medical Esthetics for estheticians. However, Concepts Institute offers training and certification through our institution in both of these areas. By attending one or both of the following courses you will have greater knowledge and understanding of the topic of Clinical or Paramedical esthetics, thereby will be able to execute the treatments more confidently and effectively. This will also enable you to remain competitive in the job market and potentially command a greater salary.
Below are the requirements and an outline of both curriculums:
Clinical Esthetics Certification
This training and certification is for estheticians who wish to gain knowledge of advanced/clinical skin care treatments so that they are able to implement corrective skin care procedures that can be utilized in a skin care clinic or medical spa. This certification can be earned by completing any five of the classes below and passing the required exams with at least 70%. * Treating Acne
* Chemical Peels
* Lymphatic Drainage
* Light Emitting Diodes (LED)- The cold laser
* Understanding the Integumentary System and Advanced Skin Analysis
* Treating Hyper-pigmentation
* Understanding Galvanic, Ultrasound and High Frequency
* Diamond Micro-Dermabrasion
The Clinical Esthetics classes can be taken in a group setting and each class normally repeats every three months. The dates and times are listed under the classes section. You may opt for private, one-on-one training sessions. The course can be completed in as little as 3 days when taking one-on-one/private training.
Pre requisite (must have at least one of the following):
1. Student enrolled in a state board approved school,
2. Has an Esthetician license,
3. Has a Cosmetology license, or
4. Is a Registered nurse.
Paramedical Esthetics Program
Our Paramedical esthetics program is designed exclusively for estheticians but is open to other medical personnel. This program is presented by some of the industry's top esthetic professional educators and by Dr. Bradley Greene. Dr. Greene is a board certified facial plastic surgeon whose teaching style is comprehensive, thorough and entertaining. This unique program will help prepare the esthetician to work in a medical setting by providing invaluable knowledge of the following:
* The role of an Esthetician in a medical setting.
* Pre and Post operative care of such procedures as lasers and facial surgery.
* Bacteriology, sanitation and sterilization in the medical office.
* Patient charting.
* Lasers, Botox, injectables and facial procedures.
* Basic medical terminology.
* Basic skin disorders.
* Overview of: Micro-dermabrasion, LED therapy, Lymphatic Drainage massage, Chemical Peels.
On the final day of training the student will have the opportunity to shadow Dr. Greene in his office. This one-on-one time with the doctor will need to be booked in advance. This will include being able to observe Dr. Greene provide several procedures for patients in the medical office and give the student the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with the doctor so that they can ask questions and gain invaluable knowledge about medical esthetics and working in a physician's office.
Pre requisites, esthetician or cosmetology license and at least one of the following:
1. Clinical Esthetics certification from Concepts Institute of Advanced Esthetics or NCEA certification or CIDESCO certification.
2. Alternatively you are eligible if you are a physician, physician's assistant, Nurse practioner or Registered Nurse.
3. Those who have attained their clinical esthetics certification from Concepts Institute may choose to forgo the first day of paramedical esthetics training which is a review of many clinical esthetic topics.
Course hours: Approximately 20 hours (2.5 days). Certification signed by physician after the entire course has been completed and final test has been passed with 70% or higher.
Cost: for 2.5 days $875
Cost: for 1.5 days $650 (only applies to those who have earned their Clinical Esthetics certification).
